THE 22nd ANNUAL NATIONAL GOLD
TOP SHOW AND SALE
WEDNESDAY 25th AUGUST 2004
BORDERWAY
MART, ROSEHILL, CARLISLE
 |
| Danish Du Albatross Bittersweet led by
Vicky Shedding |
The Gold Top sale at Borderway Mart saw an
excellent entry of Pedigree Jersey cattle at this annual
collective event. Also encouraging was the big crowd of pedigree
and commercial buyers which ensured a very respectable trade
and a virtual 100% sell out.
Seven animals made over 1,000 gns to a top of 2,720 gns for Danish Du Albatross
Bittersweet consigned by John & Carol McIlwraith, Balig Farm, Ayr. This
outstanding young cow in her second lactation has already given 6,904kgs 4.96%
3.96% in 267 days. Sired by Q Albatros and back in calf to Rock Ella Paramount,
she was purchased by Mrs JM Waring, Field House Farm, Beverley, E Yorks.
The second top price was the Reserve Champion, Priestcar Renake Bambi, successfully
shown by Mr BR & Miss RL Jarvis, priestcar Lodge, Marton-Cum-Grafton, North
Yorshire. Paying 1,700gns for this sweet heifer was Clandeboye Estate, Clandeboye,
Bangor, Co Down, N Ireland.
