The Beeston Spring Collection Sale
Tuesday 20th April 2004
A great crowd was present for the Wright Manley Spring Collection
Sale at Beeston, and what a great trade was experienced from
start to finish.
Jerseys topped at 1220gns for a very sweet heifer consigned
by Osberton Jerseys and sired by Comfort Royal Alf, bred from
an Excellent dam and yielding 19kg daily.
The next top price of the day was 920gns for a stylish heifer
consigned by Arley Farming Company, of Bewdley, she was sired
by Danish Tanic Tartan and fresh in February, bred from 3 generations
of Very Good or Excellent cows, she was taken home by Mr P
M Scott from Whitchurch, Shropshire.
In calf heifers topped at 1150gns meeting vendors Messrs J
W & M J Smith’s of Leicester ambition of breaking
through the four-figure barrier for a homebred animal sold
under the hammer. This wonderful heifer sired by Piedmont Revelation
CJCC and due in June to Woodbine Masterberry Jedi Knight, is
bred from
a super family of show winners and stood 2nd place overall
at the 2003 Dairy Event. She was purchased by, Mr H P Davies,
Colwyn Bay.
The second top price In calf heifer also went to the Smiths
with another super heifer due for June and sold for 900gns
to Messrs D J D & J B Taylor, Shrewsbury.
