 The
9th Spring Gold Top Sale offered a selection of pedigree Jerseys
from some of the top jersey breeders both North & South
of the border.
Andrew Templeton Auctioneer commented “the
demand for quality jerseys remains buoyant in this ever strengthening
market.
Osberton Jangle, a son of Julian Valleystream,
realised the top price of the day of 1,600gns. Osberton Angel
4 EX92 3E, Jangle’s dam, from the Angel family, is renowned
for consistently high combined fat & protein. Consigned
by Osberton Jerseys, Worksop, Nottingham he now enters the
herd of JEJ Harrison, Wilden, Bedford.
Kerbanks Partnership consigned Kerbanks Barbers
Tina, a recently calved heifer. Sired by Duncan Barber and
from the Thornlee Rexina family, she sold for 1,050gns to RB
Graham, Airthrey Kerse, Bridge of Allan.
Messrs Shaw, Sunnyrigg, Longtown snapped up Croftlands
Janice for 900gns. This fresh Danish bred heifer was consigned
by Messrs Hughes, Silloth, Wigton. The Sunnyrigg herd was successful
in purchasing ten other jerseys.
