LONGHILLS JERSEYS REACH 1,250gns
Pedigree Jersey cows sold to 1,250gns on two occasions at
the dispersal sale for the Longhills herd for Mr John Wright
at Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire on Wednesday 15th February
2006.
Kyford Brumble Thistle, a 2nd calver by the Danish bull Brumble,
giving 24.2kgs 5.76%F 3.64%P daily
when sold after calving in October, was purchased by S R & S
M Howle, Haresfield, Middlesex, for 1,250gns. Her 1st
lactation was 5,379kgs, and her Highland Duncan Lester dam
had peaked at 6,280kgs.
The second animal to make 1,250gns was Longhills Debbie, a
2nd calver by Rivers Imperial. Debbie also calved in October
and was purchased by Shavington Estate, Whitchurch, Shropshire.
Another Rivers Imperial 2nd calver which had calved in October
sold for 1,050gns to Newtuck Ltd, Tetbury, Gloucestershire. She
had recorded 5,341kgs as a heifer, and her dam peaked at 6,663kgs.
Newtuck Ltd also paid 1,020gns for the top priced calved heifer
Longhills Caroline. The Royals Green Elmo daughter had
recorded 4,870kgs 5.19%F 3.89%P in
her 1st lactation and was due with her 2nd calf in March to
the Aberdeen Angus stock bull. Her dam by Wilsonview
Legend Merit peaked at 5,922kgs 6.06%F 3.92%P.
Yearling heifers sold to 460gns for Longhills Williams Anthia
sired by William Ace of Hearts and out of a 4,520kgs 6.91%F 4.14%P
Parkplace Berretta Gunner cow. The buyers were the Davanna
Farms Partnership, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire.
Heifer calves peaked at 290gns paid by P D & E M Stockley,
Sturminster Newton, Dorset. The 4 month old Longhills
Crescent Wicker sired by Crescent Ace of Spades was out of
a Fyn Toledo daughter which had recorded 4,613kgs as a heifer
at 5.15%F 3.75%P. Her grand dam had recorded
7,319kgs.
A total of six animals recorded four figure prices with buyers
attending from throughout England, Wales and Scotland.
