Spring Gold Top Sale
Wednesday 26th April 2006
The Lakes Counties Jersey Cattle Club hosted the Tenth Spring
Gold Top Sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Wednesday 26th
April 2006. Consignments were made both locally from Cumbria,
Yorkshire & Lancashire.

The top price of 1,200gns was realised for a fresh calved
heifer, from two EX93 dams and was sired by Statesman. Consigned
by Ravenfield Jerseys, Hull she now enters the herd of Messrs
GM & AJ Harrison, Manor Farm, Leyburn, North Yorkshire.
The second top price of 1,080gns was for first time consignor
Hillside Jerseys, GM & JA Harrison, North Yorks. Sired
by Mollybrook Fusion and bred from 3 EX or VG dams, this stylish
heifer enters the herd of Roger Armour, Glarryford, Northern
Ireland.
Lancashire breeder, David Jones consigned the third highest
price. Sired by Duncan Jude and recently fresh, giving over
20kgs daily, this well bred heifer was sold to JA McGarva,
Horseclose, Annan.
