The 24th Gold Top Show & Sale for the Lakes Counties
Jersey Cattle Club at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, on Wednesday
23rd August 2006 saw all mature cattle to average over £1,000.
Champion & Reserve Champion Jerseys - (l-R) Catherine Ralston,

The top price of the day went to the champion jersey from
Matthew & Catherine Ralston, Rhoin Farm, Campbeltown. This
Wellhead Dreamers Squidgy EX91(Royal Show Champion) grand daughter
Braymeadow Pitinos Mistress sold for 2,250gns. An undisclosed
buyer purchased this 1st prize heifer in milk.
The Reserve
Champion, also consigned by Matthew & Catherine Ralston
was Rhoin Perimeter Pandora VG85. This Rock Ella Perimeter
daughter, was 2nd & Res Champion East Kilbride Show 2005
and 2nd Gentic Merit Agri-Scot 2005. This freshly calved young
cow in her second lactation was sold to the judge of the show
Mr Jim McGarva, Horse Close, Dumfries for 1700gns.

The second top price of the day was 2,000gns for Grayridge
Royal Legacy consigned by David Gray and exhibited by Jim Gray,
Drumtall Farm, East Kilbride. Sired by Molly Brook Fusion,
this freshly calved heifer was a daughter of Grahmar Lemvig
Legacy EX90 who was Supreme Interbreed Champion Royal Show
2003 and the Royal Highland Show 2003. She was purchased by
S&S Murray, Shipley Bank Farm, Wolverhampton.
Clydevalley Ringmaster Luita realised 1,050gns for consignor
Miss Alison Hunter, West Tarbrax, Shotts. This real stylish
show heifer by Family Hill Ringmaster was purchased by Designer
Jerseys, Radley Green, Essex.
