Angersleigh Jersey Dispersal Tops at 1650gns
Wednesday 31st October 2007
Dick & Jenny Aish’s decision to sell their “Angersleigh” Herd
of Pedigree Jerseys that had been established for 63 years
was rewarded with an excellent trade for the milking cows and
heifers. A day that was clearly a difficult one for the family
attracted 24 different cattle purchasers with a significant
number travelling from both Cornwall and Wales.
Joint top price of the day was 1650gns for consecutive lots
being “Angersleigh Jas Hots Francesca” and “Angersleigh
Paramounts Florette” both recently classified as GP84
and concluding their first lactations in which they had given
over 5,000kgs and due again in December. They go to join the
Spiller family’s relatively new herd at Honiton, Devon.
Well bred older cows also sold well with the Ex92 8th calved
cow “Angersleigh Meadowlawns Xerox” by “Meadow
Lawn J Imperial” selling to the Cox family from Carmarthenshire
for 1150gns.
Calved heifers sold to 1400gns for “Angersleigh Paramounts
Grace” GP81 by the “Rock Ella Paramount” sire
and with a PLI £+63 she was one of a consignment of 24
purchased for Mrs M Scribbins to establish a new herd in Dorset.
Incalf Heifers reached 1010gns for “Angersleigh Paramount
Gillian” that is due in February to “Wattlebrink
Whisky”. She travels to join the Carters in Falmouth
Cornwall.
Bulling Heifers sold to 520gns for “Angersleigh Jas
Hots Harriet” with a PLI of £+107 and by the “Jas
Hot ET DJHB” she made 520gns. Heifer calves were close
behind at 500gns each for the twin daughters of “Angersleigh
Blanche GP84” and “LS Kava Sambo” being “Angersleigh
Kavas Ira” & “Imp” that were born in
April.
A day that generated a large crowd produced the following
excellent averages:-

Heifers - £1,354.50
Incalf Heifers - £853.13
