Freeland Jerseys Dispersal Sale

After 50 years of breeding Jersey dairy cattle the Plumb family
dispersed their prize winning herd at St Clears. Though late
harvesting, weather affected the attendance purchasers were
out in force keen to acquire member of old established female
lines.
Most sought after was the Candy line led by a Rockella
Remake daughter Candy 2 selling to Gareth Morgan & family’s’ Philmor
herd at Fishguard at 3200gns. The same purchasers also acquired
Chairman Yarrow 2 at 2700gns and Medes Candy at 2200gns.
Closely related to the top priced lot Remake Candy, and excellent
third calver joined the Erie herd of Edward Morgan & family
at 2400gns.
Maidens peaked at 750gns for a Candy sired by
the stock bull Yeomans, whilst at 450gns Lieutenant Candy
sold to the Future Dreams Syndicate and a heifer calves at
400gns selling to Philip Manning, Shropshire. Also crossing
the border were sixteen animals of all ages to James Warren
and Alan Steer of Cornwall.
