Nationwide Interest for the long established
Wotton Herd.
Royal Farms, Windsor make
top call of 1,750gns for Wotton
Sultan Champion Yolande a November calved heifer by
Centurian Sultan and daughter of Wotton Decadences
Yolande - Part of the Wotton Show Team.
Wotton Decadences Yolande being
Surrey Show Supreme Dairy Champion in 2006 - Dam of Sultan
- sold earlier on in the sale - and achieved second top
price at 1700 gns also to Royal Farms
she herself in her fourth lactation having calved on
the 23rd March
and producing 36 kilos daily.
A particular feature of
the sale were the cows bred by Centurian Sultan who both
took the eye and the price with fifteen selling to average £1,012.
A
Wotton Decadences daughter lead the prices in the served
heifer run, this time by the homebred bull Wotton Topshot
at 820gns.
Other averages achieved as follows:-

Fourteen cows sold in the four figure

east looking for well bred Jersey youngstock making the
demand quite exceptional, many heifers sold behind their
dams changing hands between 550 & 650gns and achieving
an overall average of just under £500 from nine
weeks to eight months.
Amongst the older unserved heifers
was Wotton
Sultan Tilt just fourteen months - a Mulberry
coloured heifer again by Centurion Sultan being secured
by Robert Mann, late of Fletching the Woolpack herd but
now of Ilminster, Somerset, at the figure 1050gns.
Good to report several potential customers
for the two homebred young bulls - Wotton Jumbo and
Wotton Bumblebee achieving a very creditable price
of 1300gns and 1150gns respectively.
