Autumn show and sale
of Jersey cattle

Good quality fresh and served heifers led the Jersey
trade with the leading bid of 1350gns for a daughter
of the homebred sire Hillside Sapphires Jewel from Rapid
Bay Ressurection VG87 dam. Sold by Adrian & Gillian
Harrison from their Hillside herd in North Yorkshire
and buyer was J&I Watson, Wigton.
At 1300gns was another fresh heifer from the Thomson
family’s noted Farlam herd. Farlam Halfpennys Kroner
is a Zik daughter. Her 29 July born baby calf by the
Cornerstone Young Sire, Farlam Danish Hover, entertained
the crowd as it skipped and danced around the ring. She
was rewarded by attracting a successful bid of 380gn
from new entrants to the Jersey breed, the Edmundson
family from Penrith.
Jersey Champion – Caldewvalley

Two superbly bred served heifers from Craig Brough’s
Caldewvalley sold for 1250 and 1200gns. One of which
was selected as Champion by Jersey Judge Mark Wilson.
This was Caldewvalley Lexington Magic, due in February
to Lencrest On Time, she sold for 1200gns to EH Fearon,
Walton Hall, Grange Over Sands.

Stephen Bland sold a maiden heifer on choice in aid
of the Jersey
Youth Travel Scholarship. EH Fearon, Walton
Hall, Grange-Over-Sands was the successful bidder and
selected Clifton Excitation Angie; she was also Reserve
Champion in the Show.
