Lakes Counties Jersey Cattle Club
Autumn show and sale of Jersey cattle
Wednesday 18th August 2010

Good quality fresh and served heifers led the Jersey trade with the leading bid of 1350gns for a daughter of the homebred sire Hillside Sapphires Jewel from Rapid Bay Ressurection VG87 dam. Sold by Adrian & Gillian Harrison from their Hillside herd in North Yorkshire and buyer was J&I Watson, Wigton.

At 1300gns was another fresh heifer from the Thomson family’s noted Farlam herd. Farlam Halfpennys Kroner is a Zik daughter. Her 29 July born baby calf by the Cornerstone Young Sire, Farlam Danish Hover, entertained the crowd as it skipped and danced around the ring. She was rewarded by attracting a successful bid of 380gn from new entrants to the Jersey breed, the Edmundson family from Penrith.
