Golden Trade to 1020gns for 7th calver

Kivells held the dispersal sale of the non pedigree Richan herd of Jerseys on behalf of Messrs R and H Daft of Callington on Wednesday 1st June 2011.

A strong crowd of buyers made a cracking trade from start to finish with 18 cows making 800gns or more topping at 1020gns for “Richan Zeus C39” a freshly calved 7th calver by Richan Barbers Valient Zues selling to Messrs Bellringer of Bodmin.

Selling at 920gns was a cracking young second calver “Richan Paramount H39” by Rock Ella Paramount having calved in January 2010 she sold served in March and PD+ in calf to Mr Bragg of Tavistock who also purchased a 5th calver “Richan Zues C38” by Richan Barbers Valient Zues who sold having calved in January for 900gns.

Messrs Bellringer made some sound purchases with “Richan Bomber J57” a heifer by WF Brook Bomber due her second in June to Coalition and “Richan Paramount G15” a daughter of Rock Ella Paramount due her third in July to On Time, both for 850gns. Also selling at 850gns was a 6th calver “Richan Zues C83” another Valient Zues daughter dry and due in September to Balas.

In calf heifers sold to 700gns for a granddaughter of Danish Bookmark due in November to Balas.

Bulling heifers sold to 450gns and heifer calves at foot sold to 280gns.

40 milking & dry cows averaged £794 (inc 3 a lot calves at £231)
8 Older & high cell count cows averaged £390
2 in calf heifers averaged £682
