Jerseys to 2000gns!
Kivells Dairy team travelled to South Gloucestershire
on Tuesday to disperse the “Swangrove” herd
of 185 Pedigree Jerseys on behalf of Messrs Swangrove
Farms, part of Badminton Estate. A great crowd of buyers
were around the ring from all over the Westcountry, Stafford,
Wales and Northern Ireland which ensured an excellent

Stag Creamy VG87” by Fourcrosses Ontime Stag, she
sold due her second in October to Messrs Hollybush Farms
of Monmouth. Another great heifer sold at 1500gns for “Swangrove
May Innis VG85” by DJ May, she calved in October
and sold to volume buyers Andrew & Debbie Lewis for
their new herd in North Devon. Another DJ May daughter “Swangrove
May Lowi GP84” sold at 1450gns to the same buyer.
Two more heifers sold at 1300gns and many of the best
were between 1000-1200gns.
Dry Cows sold to 920gns for
a second calver by Senn Sational Paramount Ace. Older
cows and second quality were harder to place but overall
an excellent trade on the cows with 22 selling over £1000.
In Calf Heifers met an easier trade and topped at 1250gns
for “Swangrove Stag Creamy 3” by Fourcrosses
Ontime Stag out of a 7000Kgs EX92 Sultan daughter, she
sold due in the Autumn to Messrs Robertson & Daughter
of Bristol. Many others close to profit sold between
Bulling Heifers looked decent value for money
and topped at 450gns x 5 with others to 440gns.

their dams through the ring were a tremendous trade topping
at 300gns for a daughter of the Stockbull Bayview Belvedere
Marcus which sold to Colm McBride of Northern Ireland
who purchased 18 yearlings and calves. Most of the calves
sold between 200-250gns.
