Friday 30th August 2019

Kivells held the Autumn Gold Sale of Pedigree Jerseys at Exeter Livestock Centre, Devon which saw a consignment of 51 head from the Ansom herd of La Ferme Ltd. travel across the water from Jersey Island.

The sale attracted buyers from Southern Ireland, Kent and all over the South West which ensured a cracking trade from start to finish!

The 22 In Milk Cows & Heifers met a very strong trade topping at 2100gns for “Ansom Joel Olly Sybil” a second calver by Guimo Joel, this super cow was backed with 9 generations of VG & EX dams and sold to Southern Ireland.

Two more second calvers made 1650gns for “Ansom Novello Blondie” and “Ansom Joel Crown” with another two close behind at 1600gns.

In Calf Heifers met a better than expected trade topping at 1450gns for “Ansom Ringmaster Cyber”, this heifer by Family Hill Ringmaster sold due in November to Southern Ireland with others close behind at 1350gns & 1300gns.

Yearling Heifers also met strong demand especially if they had a complete pedigree topping at 1500gns twice for “Ansom Explan Cyber” by Cottage Ibens Exciting Plan from the Sybil family, she sold to Messrs Oaks of Worcester and “Ansom Victorious Aurorette” by River Valley Victorious out of Ansom May Aurora EX93, this cracking heifer sold to Chris & Connie Creeper for the Riverview Herd.

Three very well bred calves also met a strong trade with January born “Ansom DHOliver Bayi Anemone” by Dutch Hollow Oliver P, a granddaughter of Ansom May Anemone EX95, she sold to Peter & Louise Phillips of Par, Cornwall. The other Anemone granddaughter, this time by Sunset Canyon Dazzler sold well at 1100gns to Lee Hunter of Preston. A March born calf “Ansom Craze Nouvelle” by River Valley Craze sold well at 1000gns to Messrs Oaks of Worcester.
