Romsey Show 2008
Spice
of life
Great jubilation surrounded the success of Spice Nebraska
Tulip 2 when she claimed the Inter-breed Championship
at the Romsey Show.
Bred and exhibited by Hazel Woodget, there is quite a
story of human endeavour behind the Spice herd. The 140
acre farm on the Wiltshire, Dorset border has been home
to Hazel since she was 1 year old and it is now the only
dairy farm in the parish.

Along with husband, Mike, there are 60 organic cows,
split between Jerseys and Shorthorns. The Jerseys were
introduced following the sad death of son, Luke 14 years
ago.
Hazel set out to buy older, well proven, cows and has
had a closed herd for ten years.
Throughout recent years Hazel has battled against cancer
and periods of debilitating treatment remain a feature
of their lives.
From such circumstances it is easy to imagine the delight
and immense pride which Tulip 2 brought. Her grand-dam
was TeeVee Rose Nebraska and sire a homebred son of Blackys
Big Time with Lester Sambo and Gwenby bloodlines also
in the pedigree.
