600 points and reducing by 50 points for each placing. 1 point
per kg of fat and 1 point per kg of protein will be added to
the inspection points to give the final placing. Official Milk
certificates must accompany each entry brought forward for
judging in this class. Only animals entered in classes 168,
170 and 171 may compete in this class where eligible. Entry
for this class must be stated at time of stall booking.

BLYTHEWOOD DAIRY PAIRS COMPETITION:
Class 175: BLYTHEWOOD DAIRY PAIRS COMPETITION
The aim of the competition is to find the “Best Matching
Pair of Animals from each Breed”. Two female animals
are selected by the Breed Society before 3pm on the Tuesday
of Show. Entries listing the animals names and catalogue numbers
are to be placed in a box at the Cattle Foreman’s Office.
Entries for this section can be from any of the following breeds:
to be from the following breeds: Holstein, Dairy Shorthorn,
Ayrshire or Jersey. No Entry Fee is required. Preliminary judging
will take place on the Wednesday after the Interbreed Junior
Dairy Championship; animals to be shown without rosettes. The
final judging will take place in the Main Ring at the same
time as the Grand Parade on Wednesday. The Winning Dairy Pair
will receive £400, Rosettes & Prize cards. Yorkshire
Agricultural Society Tankards will be awarded to the winning
pairs’ stockpersons. The Reserve will receive £200,
Rosettes & Prize cards. A Yorkshire Agricultural Society
Trophy will be awarded to the Winning Dairy Pair for presentation
purposes only. This trophy will not be available to the exhibitor/s
due to the age and fragility of this particular trophy. Prize
money will be paid direct to the Breed Society and not individual
owners.

INTERBREED
DAIRY GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS: Class 176: FOR THE BEST GROUP OF
FIVE ANIMALS
selected from entries in the Dairy section. Each Group is to
consist of *2 Cows in milk from seperate classes, 1 Cow in
calf, 1 Heifer in milk and 1 Heifer in calf. *In the event
of any breed having only one Cow in milk class, the second
animal may be drawn from this class. The animals will parade
without any rosettes that have previously won. Conditions:
1. The entries will only be accepted from breed societies.
2. Not more than one group may be entered by each society.
3. No entry fee is required. 4. The breed society is required
to state that it intends to make an entry. 5. The animals may
be owned by one or more exhibitors but must be entered as a
group in the name of the breed society only and not individual
owners. 6. Prize money will only be paid to the breed society
and not individual owners. The Catalogue numbers of the animals
selected to make up the group must be given to the stewards
when entering the judging ring.
